PEPID Delivers CME to the Point-of-Care for Improved Patient Care
Bedside learning for physicians becomes a reality at healthcare information technology conference in Baltimore

Evanston, Illinois – April 12, 2007 – PEPID, a leading developer of mobile medical information resources, has announced that Vice President Dennis Carson will make a presentation at the MedBiquitous Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, April 17th. The presentation, Point of Care CME on Handheld Devices, is part of the conference’s Innovation Demonstrations program.

New Continuing Medical Education Guidelines now permit obtaining CME credit for using point-of-care references including PEPID Primary Care Plus during the course of daily practice. Primary Care Plus is a proprietary medical reference tool for physicians in primary, ambulatory, and hospital based care. Primary Care Plus is available on handheld platforms including Palm OS, Pocket PC, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, or online for individuals and institutions.

Mr. Carson’s presentation shows how a clinical question, taken from the hundreds of evidence based topics contained in the PEPID Primary Care Plus Knowledge Base, is used for bedside learning. In the Abstract for the presentation, Mr. Carson states that “Point of Care CME takes continuing medical education beyond a time based activity to one that helps improve patient care.”
